Create your first campaign

By the end you'll have a live signup page where guests pick offers and get vouchers by email. Each voucher has its own code that works once, and staff check it on any phone.

Before you start

  • Codes for each offer. Bring your own, let Coupon Carrier make them, or use a code list you already have.
  • A few minutes, and a phone to test on.

Step 1: Create the campaign

  1. Go to Campaigns and click Create campaign. In a new account, the Get started window opens by itself after the welcome questions.
  2. Choose Share a signup page and click Create campaign.
  3. Type a name in Name your campaign at the top. The signup page uses it as its title until you set one.

The Set up your campaign checklist at the top shows your next step. Click Set up to open it.

Step 2: Add offers and codes

  1. In Offers, click Add offer.
  2. Type a title, like "Free coffee", and press Enter. Add the rest the same way, then click Done.
  3. Next to each offer, under Codes left, click Add codes and choose:

I have codes: paste them one per line, or choose a CSV or text file.

Make codes for me: a unique code for each voucher. You can set how long vouchers are valid.

Use an existing code list: pick one of your code lists.

  4. Click Add codes.

Step 3: Choose how staff check vouchers

Open Voucher and pick one under How staff check vouchers:

  • Staff tap Mark as Used (the default): a button on the guest's phone. Best for smaller shops.
  • Staff scan a QR code: with Coupon Carrier Scanner on their phone. Best for busy counters.
  • Show the code: for your own till or online checkout.

Add a short Message for guests if you like, then click Save.

If staff scan, the checklist adds Set up staff phones. Click Create a scanner for me and give staff the sign-in details. The password shows only once.

Step 4: Set up the signup page

Open Signup page under How people get it.

  1. Under Page, add a Title and a short Introduction.
  2. Under Email, check the From line. Click Change to set the From name and Replies go to address. Empty fields use your account details.
  3. Change the Subject, Message and Footer if you like.
  4. Click Save.

The preview shows what guests see at each step. For your logo and button colour, open Look.

Step 5: Test it

The campaign is in test mode until you go live. Everyone gets test vouchers, which never use real codes and stop working after 7 days.

  1. Under Before you go live, open Test mode.
  2. Open the signup page link shown there, on your phone if you can.
  3. Enter your email, click Continue, pick offers and click Email my vouchers.
  4. Open the email (its subject starts with [Test]) and tap View voucher.
  5. Check it the way staff will: tap Mark as Used, or scan it with a staff phone.

You can make 20 test signups a day.

Tip: This is the link you'll share. Don't share it yet: until you go live, everyone who opens it gets test vouchers. You can already print its QR code with the QR code button next to the link. The code stays the same when you go live.

Step 6: Go live

  1. When the checklist says All set, click Go live. You can also turn on the switch next to Test mode at the top right.
  2. Read the Go live? window. From now on the campaign gives out real codes, and test mode ends for good.
  3. Click Go live.

You need at least one active offer with codes.

After you go live

  • Share the link. Copy it from the confirmation, or later from the Signup page row. For posters and table cards, click the QR code button next to the link to print a card or download the code.
  • Brief your staff on the check you chose: Mark as Used on the guest's phone, the scanner, or your till. Each voucher works once.
  • Follow your results at the top of the campaign: people, vouchers given out, used and codes left. By offer, By source and Download all vouchers as CSV give the details.

Common questions

Why do my emails come from a Coupon Carrier address?

Until your domain is verified, emails come from an address like northfieldbakery@mail1.couponcarrier.io. Replies still go to you. To use your own address, verify your domain under Account > Sending Domains. Gmail, Outlook and other free addresses can't be verified. See Improve Deliverability With a Custom Sending Domain.

Why is an offer missing from my signup page?

The page only shows active offers that have codes. The editor's preview also shows offers still waiting for codes, so check Codes left in Offers.

What happens to test vouchers when I go live?

They keep working for 7 days and never count in results. To test again later, use the separate link in the Test signup page row.

What counts toward my plan?

Each offer a guest picks uses one code. A guest who signs up again with the same email gets the same vouchers, so no new codes are used. Test vouchers don't count. The trial includes 50 codes.
